The Ministry of Health is the system manager of the NSW public health system and purchases services on behalf of the state from Local Health Districts, Specialty Health Networks, and statewide services such as NSW Ambulance, Pillars and shared service organisations.

The System Sustainability and Performance Division provides the front-end system management by leading the annual purchasing process, and monitoring and supporting overall system performance.

ABOUT YOU

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience at a senior level in operational management gained in the health or similar industry environment.
  • Demonstrated depth of knowledge of contemporary trends and developments in health service purchasing and its application in a large, complex public health environment.
  • Financial management experience at executive level in a large and complex organisation, along with the demonstrated capacity to manage high level negotiations across all levels of government and jurisdictions.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

In this role you will lead the development and negotiation of Service Agreements to purchase health services from public health organisations, including Local Health Districts, Specialty Health Networks and NSW Ambulance, for the delivery of high quality, safe, efficient and effective health care. You will also provide leadership for environmental sustainability reform across the NSW Health system, contributing to the NSW Government commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
This is an ongoing, full time, Band 2, Public Service Senior Executive (PSSE) role. An attractive remuneration package within the range of $296,687 to $332,841 per annum, with annual performance reviews, will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
