As Executive Director, Transport Strategy, you will bring a proven track record in leading complex, high-impact strategies and customer-focused initiatives. Your ability to engage stakeholders, navigate government processes, and influence in politically sensitive environments will be critical to your success.
You can cut through the noise and make complex ideas and topics easier to understand. As an accomplished strategist, your customer-centric approach to developing an enterprise-wide strategy, incorporating data analytics, global best practices, and emerging mobility trends, allows you to develop future-ready transport strategies that put people first.

Responsibilities

IN THIS ROLE, YOU’LL:

  • Lead the development of enterprise-wide transport and customer strategies that are aligned with government priorities and centred on the needs and experiences of customers, passengers, and communities.
  • Oversee strategic priority and enablement programs that mobilise cross-functional teams to turn strategy into action, fostering collaboration across the transport sector.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives, elected representatives, and policymakers, providing clear, evidence-based guidance to support data driven decision-making in a complex, evolving transport landscape.
  • Embed Aboriginal outcomes across Transport, empowering the Director Aboriginal Outcomes to lead the integration of Aboriginal voices, perspectives and culturally responsive initiatives into policy, strategy, and service delivery.
  • Establish robust performance metrics, monitor progress, and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes for customers, passengers and communities.
  • Recruit and develop a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative, innovative and inclusive work environment where people feel empowered to thrive and deliver results.
  • Listen, adapt, support your partners, and together, get things done.
