Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, business, social services or equivalent
  • Five or more years of professional experience in the YMCA or another nonprofit preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in all aspects of operations, including staff supervision and development, successful membership practices, quality program development and implementation, volunteerism, facility and property management, and sound financial practices.
  • Understanding of the mission and cause of the YMCA and the respective roles of volunteers and staff.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community; track record of building authentic, constructive relationships with others.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands and priorities and achieve organizational objectives
  • YMCA Multi-Team Leader certification preferred.
  • Experience in Aquatics and Youth Development preferred.
  • Experience in growing membership and AOA programs preferred
Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR:

As the Executive Director of East Family YMCA, you’ll be at the helm of a thriving center, managing a $1.5M+ annual budget and guiding a diverse range of programs. From leading our staff to expanding our services, you’ll play a crucial role in enhancing community engagement and driving the YMCA’s mission forward.

Essential Functions

  • Lead with Vision: Develop and implement strategic plans to support our upcoming fitness and wellness expansion, ensuring we continue to meet the needs of our community.
  • Engage with Community: Foster strong relationships with local businesses, schools, and residents to enhance our impact and visibility.
  • Inspire and Manage: Lead a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, creating a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Oversee Programs: Manage a variety of programs including Afterschool, Summer Camp, year-round competitive swim teams, and Active Older Adult activities.
  • Drive Success: Develop strategies for membership growth, fundraising, and program development, working towards an annual campaign goal of $60,000 from 150 donors.
