Description

Job Title: Executive - Finance and Accounts Department: Accounts and Finance Location: Kolkata (In Office) Experience: 4-5 years in Finance & Accounts or relevant field (Preferably in SaaS/tech/startup environment) Job Overview: As a Finance and Accounts Executive, you'll be responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, statutory compliances, labour law compliances is an added advantage. The role requires hands-on experience with Indian statutory regulations, payroll compliances, and coordination with consultants, auditors, and internal stakeholders. We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates a passion for handling accounting tasks, such as invoicing, bank reconciliations, payments, and receivables. Additionally, you should possess excellent organizational skills and be able to handle time-sensitive tasks. Responsibilities Maintain Books of Accounts in compliance with Indian accounting standards. Record and review journal entries, invoices, expenses, accruals and provisions. Perform bank, vendor and ledger reconciliations on a regular basis. Assist in monthly, quarterly and annual financial closings. Support budgeting, MIS reporting and variance analysis. Coordinate with tax consultants and statutory auditors. Maintain statutory registers and compliance documentation. Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws including EPF, ESI, Gratuity, Shops & Establishments Act, Payment of Wages Act, Labour Codes. Handle payroll reconciliations and filings with relevant authorities. Support revenue accounting including subscription invoicing and collections. Assist in tracking deferred revenue and contract-based billing; coordinate with sales and business teams for billing accuracy. Assist in statutory, internal and tax audits. Provide documentation and explanations to auditors and regulators. Ensure timely compliance with statutory requirements including GST, TDS, Professional Tax and Income Tax compliances as applicable. Requirements Qualified accountant (B.Com/M.Com). Strong understanding of accounting and compliance framework. Proficiency in MS Office. Good coordination and communication skills. Very strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data. Experience with accounting software. Experience with Indian statutory and labour law compliances preferable.
