Executive ‐ Finishing  (BASED AT THULHIRIYA) Strategically located within Sri Lanka’s Industrial Zone in Thulhiriya, TEXO is a fabric processing mill, offering value adding services such as dyeing, finishing and printing of cotton-based fabrics to global brands. Along with TEXO’s capability of providing customized orders, this MAS owned entity also benefits from the cost and sustainability advantage of being located within the MAS Fabric Park. We are on the lookout for a dedicated individual to manage the overall operations within the department in order to meet planned production targets at the required quality levels and thereby meet customer requirements effectively while coordinating with the shift operations.  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Prepare/follow the scouring/pre-setting/finishing plan, ensure that details of targets, efficiencies, quality requirements etc are accurately communicated across the shifts in order to facilitate achievement of the required levels of productivity. * Allocate resources (manpower, machines etc) so that capacity utilization is optimized and ensure that operators are rotated across roles in order to facilitate the creation of a multi-skilled operator cadre. * Monitor output of machines through random audits, in order to ensure output is consistent with customer requirements and assist the team for rectifying any production inefficiencies. * Take decisions, both technically and administratively and ensure that timely assistance is given to the team for the resolving of issues particularly during the day/night/weekdays/weekend shifts. * Ensure adherence to housekeeping and health and safety procedures in order to enhance the image of the section and promote a safe and secure working environment. * Monitor attendance leave etc of the department and coordinate with the human resources department so as to solve related issues. * Coordinate with departments such as planning, yarn warehouse, quality assurance, dyeing, knitting, packing, maintenance etc in order to ensure availability of all inputs required for efficient functioning of the department. * Oversee all machinery maintenance by closely working with the maintenance team and following/adhering to the maintenance schedule. * Ensure technical issues/other quality issues are resolved to the satisfaction of customers, that all complaints/claims are appropriately logged and actioned whilst maintaining a customer complaint database to provide periodic reports for continuous improvements. * Assist in the preparation of the annual departmental budget including the training budget and ensure that expenses are controlled and are in line with the budget. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS * Degree in Textile, Chemical Science Background. * 4-5 years relevant experience. * Good Communication and MS Power point skills.
