Your business Legal and Group Secretariat is responsible for delivering an integrated and consistent approach to CBA’s external and internal legal risk management affairs and corporate governance. Your team The SpeakUP team works alongside the Accountability Regime Team (ART) to support CBA’s strategy by building customer trust in CBA through promoting accountability and upholding integrity. The ART and SpeakUP team are part of Legal and Group Secretariat. The SpeakUP team ensures there are safe channels and formal processes in place that enable the Group’s people and external partners to speak up about their concerns. SpeakUP also supports and enables CBA’s compliance with the statutory corporate whistleblower regime and undertakes investigations and cultural reviews into whistleblower concerns. The range of misconduct concerns investigated by SpeakUP is broad and includes fraud, bribery, conflicts of interest, bullying, sexual harassment and discrimination. Your impact and contribution Reporting to the Head of SpeakUp Investigations, you may have one or more direct reports. You will be responsible for conducting fair, impartial and timely investigations and culture reviews: With sensitivity and professionalism; and In accordance with best practice and SpeakUP’s processes (which include participant support processes). We are recruiting for 2 x EM SpeakUP Investigations professionals. On any given day you will: Conduct SpeakUP investigations and culture reviews fairly, impartially, with sensitivity and in a timely and professional manner. Follow and maintain established investigative and review processes which reflect best practice and include wellbeing support for participants. Draft clear, considered and accurate allegation letters and findings reports. Engage with investigation participants clearly, confidently and with care. Establish and maintain effective working relationships key stakeholders such as colleagues in Group Legal, HR (including Workplace Relations and People Care) and Group Investigations, as appropriate. Provide input and insights into SpeakUP’s management and governance reporting. Support the maintenance of SpeakUP’s investigation manual and related templates, guidance materials and other resources. Contribute to SpeakUP’s management of its risks, including its controls and compliance arrangements. Help shape and implement the ART and SpeakUP team strategy. Contribute to an engaged and inclusive culture within ART and the SpeakUP team, and Legal and Group Secretariat more broadly. Your experience looks like: Tertiary qualifications in law or another relevant field (preferred). 7+ years’ experience in workplace investigations, litigation, culture reviews, or other investigative or alternate dispute resolution processes. Knowledge of, and practical experience working within, Australia’s corporate statutory whistleblower regime will be highly regarded, as will specific experience in lending misconduct and fraud investigations. High emotional intelligence and demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with care and respect. Excellent written and verbal skills, including deep experience writing clear allegation letters and findings reports. Demonstrated ability to analyse information and make well-informed and considered judgements on complex matters. Demonstrated ability to influence and build trust with stakeholders, including senior management. Ability to manage several cases simultaneously and competing priorities. Resilient and well-developed self-regulation. Demonstrated ability to manage risks and compliance obligations.
