PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

The Dominick is a luxury Four Star Five Diamond hotel in the Soho neighborhood of New York City.
This position is responsible for booking and servicing small groups/events from all markets and social rooms only. Goals are established for these Group and Rooms segments to help achieve individual and team revenue goals in order to achieve the overall financial, business and marketing goals of the hotel. The manager is responsible for developing a strategic and measurable plan to prospect for potential accounts in assigned market territories, in addition to maintaining existing relationships with an established client base and servicing their needs.  Works closely with Sales, Revenue Management, Catering, Banquets, Finance and all Operational departments of the hotel.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • With a focus on small groups/events, target and close business via outside sales calls, hosting site inspections, client entertainment, presentations, familiarization trips, and sales trips, cold calling and emailing, networking, attending industry and association events.
  • Responsible for achieving individual and team revenue goals by developing and executing a sales strategy to prospect and solicit new accounts and further develop existing accounts.
  • Responsible for all phases of the sales process from lead generation, signed contracts, client changes, guarantees, set-ups, bill collection, payment confirmation, and rebooking. “One Stop Shop”
  • Maintain full-service event planning and financial contracts, estimate sheets and diagram with clients according to standards.
  • Maintain accurate and clean Delphi account database; input all opportunities into Delphi in a timely manner.
  • Confirm payments, guarantees, set-ups, signed contract and changes with clients.
  • Work a varying schedule to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
  • Maintains responsibility for floor plans for each event.
  • Generates detailed Banquet Event Orders and estimates of expenses according to contract terms.
  • Reviews and inspects banquet rooms and displays with Banquet Manager to meet and exceed client needs.
  • Works closely with Banquet team in preparing banquet and event rooms per Banquet Event Order and client specifications.
  • Establishes a relationship with all hotel departments to ensure smooth operation and servicing of clients.
  • Annual performance goals with Director of Sales & Marketing, with reviews and potential bonus pay outs quarterly.
  • Adheres to the hotel’s selling strategy as directed by the Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of Revenue Management.
  • Performs administrative duties as required including expense reports.
  • Review outgoing correspondence including proposals, contracts and email messages to ensure accuracy and continuity of 1 Hotels Brand image.
  • Participate in team brainstorming to exceed hotel financial and business goals and assist with the development of sales promotions.
  • Participates in relevant Preferred Hotels and Resorts sales calls and roadshows in accordance with budgeted expectations.
  • Recommend, plan and participate in other sales trips and industry related meetings as appropriate to the assigned markets/territories.
  • Participate in departmental sales meetings, relevant operational meetings
  • Negotiate with clients and achieves maximum revenue/profit potential while satisfying clients’ needs
  • Open and ongoing communicate with Preferred Hotels and Resorts about shared key and target accounts
  • Maintain files by proper and expedient client documentation, including adherence to logging client contact information, sales activities and maintaining files with active, timely trace dates
  • Problem solves with other departments as needed to help operations service and assist in winning over new business booked into the hotel
  • Leverage relationships and involve senior leadership to interact with key and target accounts to increase market share or to secure business
  • Conduct persuasive oral sales presentations to clients to effectively sell and represent the hotel and brand.
  • Professionally represent the hotel and brand in the community and other industry organizations and events.
  • Act as a liaison between sales and other departments of the hotel and ensure regular, ongoing communication occurs (e.g., daily rallies, divisional/departmental meetings, attendance at regular and ad hoc hotel meetings).  Attend departmental and sales meetings to review activity and performance.
  • Prepare periodic Sales reports and updates and manage the Sales & Marketing budget.
  • Monitor guest feedback and performance data to optimize guest engagement and retention and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Stay informed of market trends and introduce new products and services to drive guest engagement, increase revenue and ensure a competitive position in the market.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize performance and create value by challenging existing processes, encouraging innovation and driving necessary change.
  • Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships and ensure direct reports do the same.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as required or requested.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in a field of study related to this profession; 1 year of experience in a comparable position and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous hotel sales experience within the luxury market; demonstrated selling skills; and proven achievements in selling, optimizing guest engagement and financial performance.
  • Demonstrated proof of prior sales success.
  • Ability to work under own initiative in a highly pressured environment.
  • Must possess strong presentation skills, exceptional follow-up capabilities and a strong business development acumen.
  • Requires strong time management skills, well organized and priority focused.
  • Experience successfully leading in a fast-paced environment and prioritizing demands.
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and guest relations abilities, a flexible, dynamic and positive demeanor.
  • Must function optimally in a team environment.
  • Well versed in Sales & Marketing and Revenue Management financial aspects.
  • Technically savvy and familiar with Sales & Marketing operating/budgeting systems and spreadsheets.
