Li Ka Shing Institute of Health Sciences Executive Officer II(s) [carrying the job title of ‘Assistant Manager (Institute Administration)’] The appointee(s) will work at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Shatin, and will be responsible for (a) co-ordinating and managing capital commissioning projects, and liaising with internal and external parties; (b) discharging a wide range of human resources functions, including manpower and succession planning, recruitment, promotion, performance management, training and development, conduct and discipline, etc.; (c) planning for the strategic and effective use of the fundings, and drafting proposals/memos for funding; (d) providing professional secretarial and administrative support to various committees, including scheduling meetings and preparing meeting documents; (e) managing and operating the Institute’s building premises, planning for facility enhancement in compliance with the University’s policies, and liaising with hospital administrators for subsequent execution; (f) organising and managing a large amount of research data/ proposals/ information strategically; (g) co-ordinating the logistics in support of various seminars and/or events at Institute- and/or Faculty-level; (h) overseeing general administration and providing assistance in the daily operations of the Institute which houses about 61 research groups with over 700 researchers; (i) maintaining effective internal controls at the Institute, and collaborating with scientific team to promote the utilisation and sustainability of the core laboratory facilities; and (j) performing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Applicants should have (i) a recognised Bachelor’s degree or above; (ii) fulfilled the English language requirements set out on the website: https://www.hro.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/languageforeo; (iii) at least 5 years’ relevant and solid post-qualification executive experience at tertiary institutions; (iv) excellent communication skills with an exceptional command of English and Chinese (including Putonghua); (v) a strong sense of responsibility and strategic awareness; (vi) a proficient and independent work attitude, and good team spirit; (vii) a high level of decision-making, organisational, time management, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills; (viii) good IT knowledge; and (ix) the ability to motivate subordinates to deliver quality work under tight deadlines. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
