About the role The Executive Officer provides high-level executive, policy, project and secretariat support to the School and Teaching Standards Division. The role plays a critical part in enabling strong governance and informed decision-making by providing professional advice, coordinating high-quality briefings and reports, and supporting effective Board and committee processes. This is a great opportunity for an experienced executive support professional who enjoys working at pace, exercising judgement, and partnering closely with senior leaders. On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for: Preparing, managing and reviewing high-level briefings, correspondence, reports, submissions and executive notes to ensure accuracy, quality and timeliness. Supporting divisional planning, governance and administrative processes related to Boards and committees, including agenda coordination, meeting papers, high-quality minutes, policy advice and Chair support. Providing project management and support services, including coordinating resources, maintaining documentation, monitoring progress and reporting against milestones, budgets and quality standards. Communicating with internal and external stakeholders and coordinating working groups, committees and consultations to support information exchange and project delivery. Sourcing, analysing and compiling data to identify emerging issues and track and report on project progress and deliverables. Managing complex and sensitive enquiries and issues, including escalations, to achieve timely and effective resolutions. Developing, implementing and continuously improving administrative systems, processes and policies to ensure compliance with agency standards and procedures. Our ideal candidate will have: Demonstrated experience working autonomously in a high-volume, fast-paced executive environment, using sound judgement to manage competing priorities and sensitive matters. Proven ability to prepare high-quality government briefings and correspondence, with strong attention to detail and the ability to clearly communicate complex information to diverse audiences. Well-developed communication, collaboration and coordination skills, with experience engaging and working effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Strong organisational and administrative capability, with the ability to plan, prioritise and adapt to changing priorities while meeting tight timeframes. Experience supporting governance, committee or executive processes, including meeting coordination, minute-taking and follow-up actions. Essential requirements: Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent relevant professional experience.
