Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The NSW Crime Commission’s purpose is to disrupt, reduce and prevent the incidence of organised and other serious crime in New South Wales. The Commission is structured into several divisions, support teams and specialist units.
Corporate and Enterprise Services is responsible for the delivery of a sustainable agency and includes supporting the core business of the Commission through the Office of the Commissioner, Technology Services, Business and Finance Services, People and Culture, Governance and Audit. The division provides all security, facilities, finance, budget, procurement, HR, personnel security, governance, audit, ICT, IMT, strategy, planning, communications and ministerial liaison services to the Commission and other stakeholders.
In this role you will be tasked with providing leadership of the Commission’s internal audit, risk management and governance functions under the direction of the Chief Audit Executive. You will be responsible for supporting and providing assurance to the Commissioner and the Audit & Risk Committee about the effectiveness and appropriateness of internal controls and governance in operation at the Commission.
The Office of the Commissioner (OCOM) supports the Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer (COO) in the delivery of Commission’s strategic outcomes, operational objectives and support services.
The role coordinates meetings and appointments for the Commissioner, provides high-level secretariat support, and undertakes a broad range of administrative activities accurately, efficiently and discretely. The Executive Officer also performs secretariat services for several committees and manages special projects, including the Commission’s complaints register. The role also provides support on Corporate Legal matters, including file management and drafting of correspondence. The role supports the Commissioner and the Office of the Commissioner to develop critical business plans, research and draft policies and processes, manage communications and plan and support projects that contribute to the objectives of the Commission.
