Job Description
This opportunity is part-time for 14.4 hours per week (2 days- Thursday and Friday).
We are looking for an Executive Officer to the House of Lords Commission in our Lord Speaker’s Office at the House of Lords. This is an exciting position where you will be responsible for providing high-quality administrative support to the Commission and the Commission Group, a body of Commission members that considers issues before they are decided by the wider Commission.
This is a great opportunity for a highly-organised individual who enjoys working with a range of stakeholders, within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

You’ll be accountable for –

  • Organising administrative arrangements for Commission meetings, including proactively setting the meeting schedule and all other related arrangements such as issuing meeting invites, booking rooms and managing logistical arrangements for Commission attendees.
  • Circulation of papers: assisting the Secretary to the Commission with preparing, formatting, and circulating high-quality papers for the Commission. This will include preparing skeleton drafts of the agendas, minutes, decision documents, Chair’s briefs and some papers, and research as required by the Secretary to the Commission.
  • Managing and maintaining the Commission internet and intranet pages, as well as maintaining the Committee Information System (with information about forthcoming meetings and attendance records).
  • Maintaining and managing Commission records in SharePoint and acting as Record Officer.
  • Under the direction of the Commission Secretary, helping to implement any Commission communication plans and publish Commission reports, including liaison with Commission members and the Communications team.
  • Liaising on behalf of the Secretary to the Commission with senior officials in the House of Lords, House of Commons and PDS.

If this sounds like something you would like to hear more about, please see the full job description.
