JOB DESCRIPTION:

As an Executive Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating a wide variety of pastries and desserts in accordance with the standards and recipes established by Via Roma. Your creativity, attention to detail, and passion for pastry arts will contribute to the overall culinary experience for our customers.
Responsibilities:

Recipe Development: Develop and refine recipes for a diverse range of pastries and desserts, ensuring quality, consistency, and taste.

  • Production: Oversee the production of pastries and desserts, including mixing, baking, decorating, and presentation.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of quality and consistency in all pastry items produced.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of pastry ingredients and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels while minimizing waste.
  • Menu Planning: Collaborate with the culinary team to develop seasonal menus, incorporating innovative and creative pastry offerings.
  • Training and Supervision: Train and supervise pastry staff, providing guidance on techniques, recipes, and presentation standards.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations in the pastry kitchen, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Cost Control: Work within budgetary constraints to optimize ingredient usage and minimize food costs while maintaining quality.
  • Customer Service: Collaborate with front-of-house staff to meet customer needs and preferences, providing exceptional service and addressing any concerns related to pastries and desserts.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and techniques, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement and innovation in pastry offerings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Culinary Education: Degree or certification in pastry arts or a related field is preferred.

  • Experience: Proven experience working as a pastry chef or in a similar role, demonstrating proficiency in pastry production and menu development.

  • Creativity: Strong creative abilities with a passion for experimenting with flavors, textures, and presentation techniques.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the quality and consistency of pastry items.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train, motivate, and supervise pastry staff effectively.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and demands.
