Executive ‐ Research & Development ‐ Printing (BASED AT MAS ACTIVEWEAR) The Activewear Value Stream delivers high-performance sportswear and athleisure solutions designed for technical functionality, durability and everyday versatility— serving sports, lifestyle and performance segments. We are on the lookout for a dedicated individual to conduct in-depth research on natural innovation concepts, printing methods, complied products with certifications and develop techniques that are customer appropriate by applying modern technology, initiating testing analysis in order to improve the quality thereby effectively meeting customer requirements. Further, to take responsibilities in ensuring chemical sustainability initiatives are effectively implemented, sustained, and continually improved at Embellishment SBUs. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure effective implementation of MAS Road Map of ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals) aligning with MAS chemical management guidelines and conduct NIKE RSL requirements and guidelines. Engage with third party accredited laboratories to conduct NIKE RSL testing by aligning to NIKE RSL guidelines and take necessary actions if any deviations occurred. Conduct research printing techniques pertaining to each fabric type that are technologically current and are in trend to ensure that the right quality/ techniques are adopted by the plant. Ensure effective implementation of chemical management practices and maintain proper documentation as a central Embellishment team with respect to test certifications, inventories to fulfill audit requirements. Conduct & validate costing of new developments trying to maximize quality with cost benefits and prepare annual compliance budget with relevant parties. Engage with chemical suppliers to find out alternatives for non-compliant products and to find out new chemical product series with best performance while conducting trails to ensure product performance. Implement and follow up chemical management related projects and drive chemical sustainability at the company. Analyze processes and work on innovations pertaining to the printing process whilst, facilitating an increasing number of options available for customers with regard to printing facilities/ methods thereby, ensuring customer satisfaction whilst, building on maintaining a successful relationship with relevant customers. Participate at the meeting and gather, discuss relevant information on the current status/ discrepancies with regard to print quality thereby actively engage agreed initiatives to overcome such issues. Introduce innovative aspects to the printing unit whilst, working with existing/ new chemical suppliers in order to introduce new concepts/ products to the company thereby, increasing the level of productivity for same. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Degree in Chemistry or a relevant technical field. 2-3 years of relevant work experience in a similar capacity or in apparel industry. Knowledge of embellishment & printing techniques in apparel industry. Good IT literacy.
