[What the role is] The Building and Construction Authority (BCA) champions the development of a future ready built environment for Singapore. Besides regulating building safety, we lead and transform the built environment sector in delivering a safe, high quality, sustainable and friendly built environment. We are looking for resourceful, energetic and self-motivated individuals who are inspired to play an active role to make a difference to Singapore’s built environment. [What you will be working on] You will be part of the team that regulates safety of existing building structures and slopes. In the course of your work, you will review engineering submissions by professional engineers and liaise with builders and building owners in ensuring the safety of building structures. As part of a dynamic organisation, you will have the opportunity to work on other aspects of building control which includes policy review on ensuring the continued safety of existing buildings, carry out ageing and climate impact studies leveraging on technology and data. [What we are looking for] A degree in civil/structural engineering. A practising professional engineer registered with the Professional Engineers Board. Candidates who are not registered PEs but are preparing for registration with the PE Board would also be considered. At least 5 years of relevant design and site experience. Good command of spoken and written English. Successful candidates will be offered contract employment.
