With a strong focus on innovation, MAS is advancing wearable technology that tracks fitness and workout analytics while blending advanced sportswear with fashion and aesthetic appeal. Operating across Sri Lanka, Jordan and Indonesia, and with development centres in Sri Lanka and Canada, Activewear serves a global customer base that includes Nike, lululemon, Patagonia, and Gymshark. The Activewear product range offers diverse solutions such as Knit, Fleece, Tees, Woven, Sweaters, Engineered Knit. As a unified platform, the Activewear Value Stream combines global scale, speed and technical expertise, positioning MAS as a trusted partner for innovative, performance and lifestyle apparel. We are on the lookout for a dedicated individual to assist in generating technological solutions with deep understanding of contributing variables, deliver sound proposals using convincing communication and work collaboratively with both internal and external partners based on current development methods in order to meet organizational objectives in the most beneficial manner taking the triple bottom line into account. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Support in the development of virtual & physical prototypes both internally & with partners to create open innovation briefs that can be converted to realistic investment opportunities. * Proactively understand technology requirements of new projects & growth platforms and develop innovative approaches in solving technological challenges so as to generate meaningful resolutions. * Research & understand adoptable technology and identify potential partners to work with in a collaborative fashion to ensure optimal productivity. * Support all internal/partner teams in technical related activities and problem-solving initiatives whilst getting involved in proto /concept development to ensure newness to the customer by offering alternatives to their requirement which supports the business needs and benefit the customer. * Good understanding of the open innovation process and product development methodologies being able to convert consumer Jobs to be done, to functional requirements and converge to technology jobs to be done. * Research and be up to date with new technology/ecosystem and utilize them effectively in order to maximize functional value of products and process. * Proactively ensure measures are taken to protect organizational intellectual property including prepare and update log books to ensure patent licenses are obtained and the organization is protected. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS * Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Biotechnology or Chemical Engineering or Electrical and Electronic Engineering. * 3 - 5 years of experience in a similar capacity. * Strong fluency in English is a must. * Good analytical and logical thinking ability.
