We are looking for an Executive Underwriter – Captive Fronting, Alternative Risk Transfer, based in New York Your Team Allianz Commercial takes a unique, partnership approach to delivering Captive solutions. Through Alternative Risk Transfer (ART), we work closely with clients and brokers to create tailored unbundled fronting solutions. From coordinated standalone local placements to fully integrated International Insurance Programs, we adopt a modular approach to program design to ensure our Captive clients are fully covered wherever their business takes them. The Impact You Will Have Reporting to the Head of Captive Solutions & Multinational North America, you will serve as the primary relationship manager and subject matter expert for a portfolio of Global Captive Fronting accounts. This role is pivotal in fostering strong client and broker relationships, driving business development, and promoting the ART value proposition. You will provide expert guidance on Captive Fronted program structures and collaborate with Distribution to identify and pursue growth opportunities. Some of your specific responsibilities could include: Client Interaction & Relationship Management: Act as the key relationship point of contact for clients and brokers, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction. Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key client and broker contacts, fostering trust and collaboration. Develop and nurture relationships with Allianz Commercial Lines of Business (LOBs) and the Multinational Unit to enhance service delivery. Provide technical advice and insights on Captive Fronted program structures to enhance the value offered to clients. Business Development & Growth: Collaborate with Distribution and LOBs to identify and develop new business opportunities, driving growth and expansion. Deliver relevant market and competitor insights to inform strategic decisions and business development initiatives. Negotiate fees and ensure account profitability, aligning with business growth objectives. Promoting ART Value Proposition: Advocate and market the ART value proposition for fronting and structured underwriting, both externally to the market and internally within Allianz Commercial and Allianz Group. Operational Excellence & Compliance: Manage a portfolio of Global Captive Multinational Structured Fronting accounts with a focus on governance, compliance, and credit exposure management. Adhere to corporate compliance standards, including credit risk, legal documentation, and licensing requirements. Develop, implement, and communicate operational measurements, KPIs, and SLAs to drive and improve business performance globally and locally. Strategic Insight & Industry Knowledge: Maintain a current and comprehensive understanding of client needs and industry segments to tailor solutions effectively. Ensure delivery on agreed-upon service standards, enhancing client satisfaction and relationship management. This role is integral to driving business success through strategic client interactions, innovative business development, and the effective promotion of ART's unique offerings. What You’ll Bring to the Role A minimum of 7 year’s expertise in negotiating, structuring and executing complex Fronting and Multinational programs. Client relationship management experience up to C suite level. 5+ years’ experience in line of business or Risk Management role. In-depth understanding of the Captive concept, the rationale for them, their use and the nature of their operations. Broad-based knowledge of the major lines of business. Ability to define clear value proposition. In-depth knowledge of large risks and specialty risks insurance. Experience applying the knowledge of how the market operates and functions, as well as understanding the business needs and customer needs. Ability to develop innovative solutions in changing environments. Ability to utilize AO tools to support day-to-day tasks, improve efficiency and contribute to data-driven decision making. Ability to communicate strategies to address market trends or changes in the business environment. Positively influence key, strategic position holders internally across Lines of Business and Functions. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, peers. Ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally. Skilled at communicating both internally and externally at senior levels; and University degree or Insurance qualification in one or more of the following areas: Actuarial, Insurance, Underwriting, Finance or Legal. The annualized base pay range for this role is $215,292 - $250,000. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package.
