Exercise Physiologist 1 Job Responsibilities: • Develops exercise prescription and risk factor modification by incorporating comorbidities and musculoskeletal disorders, per established program (ACCVPR, ACSM, ATS, ACC, NASM) standards and guidelines, as evidenced by random chart review. • Reviews and develops Individual Treatment Plans. • Develops exercise and strength training programs, patient education, and behavioral health support specific to each patient to achieve optimal outcomes. • Demonstrates proper instruction and technique for performing appropriate exercise and strength training as needed to ensure patient safety and adherence to exercise prescription, as evidenced by direct observation. • Immediately reports significant changes in patient clinical status to appropriate members of the healthcare team and assists with emergency care according to department policy, as evidenced by direct observation. • May perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology Experience: Certification: Basic Life Support Within 6 Months; American College of Sports Medicine - Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM CEP) upon start OR; American Association of Cardiovascular and pulmonary Rehabilitation - Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional (AACVPR CCRP) upon start for Cardiac or Pulmonary Rehab programs OR; an equivalent advanced certification based on other hiring department We are Inova, Northern Virginia’s leading nonprofit healthcare provider.
