Inova Fairfax Hospital - Cardiac Rehabilitation is looking for a dedicated Exercise Physiologist to join the team. Exercise Physiologist Job Responsibilities: * Develops exercise prescription and risk factor modification by incorporating comorbidities and musculoskeletal disorders, per established program (ACCVPR, ACSM, ATS, ACC, NASM) standards and guidelines, as evidenced by random chart review. * Reviews and develops Individual Treatment Plans. * Develops exercise and strength training programs, patient education, and behavioral health support specific to each patient to achieve optimal outcomes. * Demonstrates proper instruction and technique for performing appropriate exercise and strength training as needed to ensure patient safety and adherence to exercise prescription, as evidenced by direct observation. * Immediately reports significant changes in patient clinical status to appropriate members of the healthcare team and assists with emergency care according to department policy, as evidenced by direct observation.  Minimum Qualifications: * Education: Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology.   * Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications within 6 months of hire   Preferred Qualifications: * American College of Sports Medicine - Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM CEP) required upon start for Cardiac or Pulmonary Rehab Programs. Responsibilities
Develop and implement personalized exercise prescriptions and treatment plans for cardiac rehabilitation patients. Monitor patient clinical status and provide instruction on safe exercise techniques while reporting any significant changes to the healthcare team.
