As part of Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group’s nationwide portfolio, Otherworld delivers a truly unique and evolving guest experience. We are seeking a part-time Exhibit Technician to support the daily maintenance and technical operations of the exhibition. This hands-on role involves preserving the functionality and presentation of interactive exhibits, contributing to repairs, and assisting with ongoing improvements. This role reports to the Technical Supervisor. The Exhibit Technician works closely with the Technical Supervisor and the broader Exhibits department, contributing to new installations, executing repairs and preventative maintenance, and supporting the overall evolution of the space. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and passionate about immersive environments and emerging technologies. RESPONSIBILITIES: Technical Repairs & Maintenance Assist in maintaining sensors, lighting, microcontrollers, projectors, audio, video, pixel LEDs, and other electromechanical components. Conduct regular inspections, document issues, and adhere to preventive maintenance schedules. Perform basic repairs during operating hours and support organization and inventory management of parts and tools. Help maintain exhibit spaces to ensure they are clean, safe, and fully functional before and during guest hours. Support the use and care of technical equipment, including software backups and basic troubleshooting tasks. Operational Support Work closely with the Exhibits and Operations teams to uphold the facility’s professional appearance and operational standards. Monitor inventory levels of technical supplies and assist with restocking when necessary. Adhere to established protocols for exhibit opening, closing, and shift handovers. Submit all internal paperwork accurately and on time. Creative Collaboration Assist in the development and installation of new exhibits, upgrades, and technical enhancements. Collaborate within the Exhibits team to translate creative concepts into safe, functional, and visually compelling experiences. Contribute ideas and solutions that enhance the space’s immersive storytelling, artistry, and overall impact. Qualifications Qualifications & Skills Minimum 2 years of experience in a technical role within a themed attraction, interactive exhibit, museum, live event, or related field. Working knowledge of basic AV, lighting, microcontrollers, sensors, and maintenance tools. Strong troubleshooting and communication skills. Reliable, self-motivated, and team-oriented. Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs and work on ladders or lifts up to 25’. Must pass a background check and have reliable transportation.
