[What the role is] The National Heritage Board (NHB) is the custodian of Singapore’s heritage. We are responsible for telling the Singapore story, sharing the Singaporean experience and imparting our Singapore spirit. NHB's mission is to preserve and celebrate the shared heritage of our diverse communities, for the purpose of education, nation-building and cultural understanding. It manages the national museums and heritage institutions, and sets policies relating to heritage sites, National Monuments and the National Collection. Through the National Collection, NHB curates heritage programmes and presents exhibitions to connect the past, present and future generations of Singaporeans. You will handle artefacts at our national museums and heritage institutions and work out the best way to display them with fellow passionate museum professionals like the curators. You will also be involved in planning and managing displays and museum rotation projects. If all this sounds exciting to you, we want you! [What you will be working on] Manage handling of artefacts during installation and de-installation of gallery displays and exhibitions. Work closely with a team of exhibition managers and technical services officers to design and produce specialised mounting for artefacts. Plan and manage works for galleries, exhibitions and rotation projects in the aspects of artefact mounting, design development, fabrication and site renovation, artefact installations/de-installations and security of gallery displays, in line with conservation and safety guidelines. Ensure effective engagement and communication with stakeholders, designers, contractors and other project partners such as lenders, curators, project managers, conservators, collection registrars etc. Coordinate with other departments, as well as project partners and contractors to ensure successful and timely delivery of all works. Plan and manage all related project timelines, logistics and administrative matters, including procurement of services / goods where required. Provide basic computer drafting and visuals for gallery space and artefact display where necessary. Other ad hoc duties as assigned. [What we are looking for] Preferably at least 1-2 years of relevant experience in project management, in the art and culture and/or product design industry. Meticulous and attentive to details pertaining to technical drawings, museum environmental conditions and installation processes. Interest in art, design, and history; sensitivity to historical artefacts and familiarity with museum environmental conditions. Experience and basic knowledge in mount-making & product design and development. Familiarity with and possess some technical experience in handling fabrication materials and tools/equipment used for mount-making. 3D product making with basic understanding of how to operate a 3D printer will be an added advantage. Efficient, organised, highly motivated with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Flexible and creative thinker with good communication skills, and problem solver with capacity for hard work. Ability to produce basic computer drawings and visuals with CAD and 3D rendering software will be added advantage.
