Sorrentino’s Cucina + Bar is a well-known Italian restaurant group, recognized for its diverse culinary offerings, private event planning, and a long-standing reputation for quality. Our Downtown location is a great place for guests to enjoy fine-dining Italian cuisine and relax with friends and family. We are constantly seeking ambitious individuals who want to grow with our company as we continue to expand.
Our Downtown location is just a quick four-minute stroll from the 102 St LRT station and only two minutes from the Churchill Connector. We are also located across the street from the Edmonton Public Library!

DESCRIPTION

Our Expo/Expediter is responsible for ensuring that food orders are accurately prepared, organized, and delivered promptly to guests. This role involves reading tickets/chits, coordinating with kitchen staff, and ensuring that food is presented properly before it reaches the table. Our Expo/Expediter plays a vital role in maintaining smooth kitchen operations and delivering a positive guest experience by ensuring the timely delivery of hot and fresh food.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Prior experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment (preferred but not required).
  • Professional in appearance and demeanour for a fine-dining restaurant.
  • ProServe Certified or willingness to obtain.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Maintain professionalism, cleanliness, and personal hygiene at all times.
  • A genuine passion for providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Read and organize food orders accurately from the kitchen ticket system.
  • Ensure that each ticket is properly completed, verifying all items are prepared according to order details.
  • Ensure that all food meets the restaurant’s quality standards for presentation, temperature, and portion size before it leaves the kitchen.
  • Alert kitchen staff if there are any delays in food delivery or issues with specific orders.
  • Maintain awareness of dietary restrictions, food allergies, or specific guest requests, ensuring proper execution.
  • Keep the expo area clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies such as plates, utensils, and condiments.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dining area.
  • Assist other team members when necessary to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
  • Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude while working with the front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including liquor laws, health codes, and operational standards.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
