Description
The Production Expeditor level 1 or 2 is responsible for ensuring the timely release, movement, and tracking of work orders through the production process. This role requires a high sense of urgency, strong communication skills, and close coordination with Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, and Sales teams. The Production Expeditor will play a critical role in identifying and resolving bottlenecks to meet customer delivery schedules. Track daily job status and proactively follow up with departments to maintain production flow. Identify and escalate potential delays or constraints to leadership and cross-functional teams. Coordinate with the Detail Scheduler and Operations team to support daily and weekly production goals. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Planning to resolve issues impacting on-time delivery. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies in the production workflow. Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in ERP/MRP systems related to job status and priorities. Assist in expediting materials or tools needed to prevent production delays. Participate in daily production meetings to communicate status updates and problem areas. Perform other duties as assigned to support production planning and control. 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing expeditor, coordinator, or production support role. Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and follow-up skills. Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and shop floor tracking. Proactive and solution-oriented mindset with a strong sense of urgency. Experience in the aerospace or fastener manufacturing industry. Lean manufacturing knowledge or experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis tools. High school diploma or equivalent.
