Purpose The Expeditor is responsible for tracking, coordinating, and facilitating the on-time delivery of materials, parts, and components required to support aircraft completions, refurbishment, and maintenance programs. This role plays a critical function in aligning supply chain activity with production schedules and program milestones by ensuring that internal teams and external suppliers meet delivery commitments. The Expeditor supports operational continuity by proactively identifying delays, escalating critical shortages, and working with vendors and internal stakeholders to mitigate schedule impacts.   Essential Job Functions * Monitor open purchase orders and expedite materials, parts, and components to meet required need dates. * Coordinate with suppliers, buyers, production, and logistics teams to ensure timely material delivery. * Proactively follow up on delayed or at-risk shipments; escalate critical shortages to leadership and program teams. * Update and maintain accurate records in ERP or MRP systems related to order status, lead times, and delivery confirmations. * Communicate material status updates to planning, warehouse, and production teams to support schedule alignment. * Collaborate with receiving and quality control teams to resolve delivery discrepancies, missing documentation, or inspection delays. * Identify supply chain bottlenecks and contribute to corrective actions to improve material flow. * Participate in daily or weekly shortage meetings, program reviews, or material readiness meetings. * Assist with prioritization of incoming materials to support urgent or high-priority aircraft programs. * Coordinate with logistics providers on shipment tracking, expediting freight, and resolving shipping exceptions. * Support internal audit readiness by ensuring documentation accuracy and traceability of expedited items. * Perform administrative tasks associated with expediting activities, including reporting and database maintenance.   Minimum Qualifications or Experience * High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree or relevant technical training preferred. * 2–4 years of experience in supply chain, materials coordination, or expediting — ideally in aviation, aerospace, manufacturing, or logistics. * Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Quantum, or similar). * Strong understanding of material flow, lead times, and purchase order processes.   Preferred Qualifications or Experience * Experience in aviation completions, MRO, or aerospace manufacturing environments. * Knowledge of aircraft parts, vendor processes, and FAA traceability requirements. * Familiarity with logistics and freight practices, including international shipments and customs documentation. * Working knowledge of Excel, database reporting tools, and inventory systems.   Supervisory Responsibilities * This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities. * May support coordination across departments or provide status updates to internal stakeholders and leadership.   Knowledge, Skills, and Other Attributes * Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills to coordinate across vendors and internal teams. * Attention to detail and accuracy in tracking part numbers, delivery dates, and documentation. * Proactive problem-solving mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. * Customer-focused approach to internal service and production support. * Collaborative, team-oriented attitude with a commitment to cross-functional alignment. * Ability to remain flexible and responsive to shifting production and material priorities. * Familiarity with aviation safety and compliance expectations in a regulated environment.   Travel Travel is not typically required for this position but may occasionally be needed for vendor site visits or logistics support.   Other Duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee for this position.
