Description
Job Summary The Expeditor will support the smooth completion of construction projects. The position ensures that ever construction site or job has an adequate and timely flow of materials and equipment.  Job Duties & Responsibilities * Determine supply needs through technical details and schedules. * Manage the orders of material and equipment to meet project requirements. * Oversees and directs all shipments to jobsites. * Coordinate the delivery of supplies according to priorities and specifications. * Resolve problems to speed up delivery of orders. * Inspect orders upon arrival to ensure the correct quality and quantity. * Monitor inventory of supplies for different jobs or sites * Place orders when needed aiming for timely delivery and competitive price. * Arrange the movement of material between locations. * Maintain good relationships with suppliers and vendors. * Manages personnel, safety and administrative needs of stocking and warehouse teams. * Supervises over 20 CDL drivers.  * Able to communicate effectively with project managers to ensure proper procurement.  Requirements Education * High school diploma is a requirement, some college hours preferred. Experience * Prior experience with construction materials, distribution, construction contractor, or lumber yard.  * Knowledge of Oracle JD Edwards AS400 – a plus  Skills * Knowledge of construction practices * Strong customer service and relationship building skills * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook * Apt in problem solving  * Able to multi-task Working Conditions * Employee regularly work in the office with occasional travel to job site locations.  * Able to work standard business hours * Able to work a varied schedule to complete projects and meet deadlines in response to changing demands.  * Able to work overtime (scheduled and/or unscheduled, nights and/or weekends) as needed or required to meet established deadlines.  * Able to work in fast paced environment with high daily pressure to meet deadlines.  * Able to perform work indoors in an office environment, regardless of whether cubicle, open office or private office. [LM1]  Physical Requirements * Able to lift boxes of offices supplies, as well as sort and store them.  * Able to demonstrate the manual dexterity to operate a personal computer effectively.  * Able to communicate orally in a clear manner.  * Able to hear oral communication either in person or on equipment such as telephone or mobile phone.  * Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop, for extended periods of time creating, composing, and reviewing documents and spreadsheets.  * Able to operate office equipment, including telephone, mobile phone, photocopier, fax machine, scanner, and calculator.
