POSITION OVERVIEW

The Food Expeditor (Expo) acts as the vital link between the kitchen and the front of house team. This role ensures that dishes leave the kitchen accurately, beautifully presented, and in a timely manner. Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced fine-dining environment are key to success.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in an expo, server assistant, or similar role preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with both FOH and BOH teams.
  • Eye for detail and commitment to consistency in plating and timing.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and monitor the flow of dishes from kitchen to dining room.
  • Check plating, presentation, and accuracy of each dish before it leaves the pass.
  • Communicate with chefs and servers to ensure proper timing of courses.
  • Manage the order wheel or POS system to track ticket flow.
  • Prioritize and organize multiple orders during peak service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expo line and pass.
  • Assist with special requests or dietary requirements to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Support smooth communication between back of house and front of house teams.
