About the Role
Joining our Customer Strategy & Design team as an Experience Designer, you’ll be sure to grow and develop your skills as you work alongside industry experts.
As an Experience Designer – Consultant, you will be considered a safe pair of hands who can design and deliver on experience strategies that respond to complex customer, employee, and citizen needs. You’ll need to:
Take ownership for the development of part of a client deliverable.
Identify and communicate engagement risks.
Know how to locate information and access support when working on client engagements.
Demonstrate effective time management, logic and structure in approach and outputs.
Contribute to the growth and development of our practice by supporting business development activities.
Work in multidisciplinary teams across a variety of subject matters to understand the breadth of customer channels and touchpoints.
Feel comfortable with a non-linear process, ambiguity, and flexibility to adjust as projects shift.
Contribute to a culture of creativity, innovation, and leadership with a finger on the pulse of what’s new and possible.
Contribute to the growth and development of our practice by supporting our junior workforce and getting involved in internal leadership initiatives.
You’ll blend the creativity of design with the rigour of consulting practice, leveraging human centred design and strategic thinking to help us:
Design and facilitate measured experiences and research with customers using participatory and iterative design techniques including observational studies, customer interviews, prototyping, and other forms of qualitative and quantitative research to uncover insights, learn about user behaviour and verify design concepts.
Research trends and emerging technologies to understand how they could unlock new value for clients and solve their challenges.
Reimagine the experiences and de-risk investment through design, evidence-based insight.
Making concepts tangible through storytelling and rapid prototyping methods, ranging from paper sketching to prototyping
About You
AS AN EXPERIENCE DESIGNER - CONSULTANT, YOU’LL HAVE:
2 – 3 years’ experience in Consulting, ideally in a leading consulting firm, digital/ design agency or within a public sector / industry equivalent
A degree/qualification in design, such as visual design, 3D Object Design, industrial design, sculpture, spatial design, or design for innovation.
Experience in the strategic design and/or deliver of physical/digital experiences.
Demonstrated versatility in human centered design & systems thinking tools, practices and methodologies including personas, archetypes, journey maps, design research and synthesis.
A passion for collaboration — to prototype thinking, turn inklings into insights and insights into possibilities, and bring stories to life in ways that move people to take action.
Experience supporting in the design of user workshops, customer testing and stakeholder interviews.
An understanding of the digital platforms, tools and systems that enable experience delivery.
Fluency with digital collaboration tools such as Miro, Mural, Microsoft Teams etc. (Nice to have - visual communications tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and/or hand-sketching)
Ability to diagnose a problem, conduct analysis, and develop solutions for client problems.
Experience managing your own work against the project plan to ensure a superior client experience has been delivered.
