ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are in a period of exciting growth and development within our Strategy Portfolio, striving to achieve a high-impact and integrated service offering in line with the University’s strategy. As a result, we are seeking an Experience Designer to join the Strategic Ventures team.
In this role, you will be supporting various professional services units and Faculties across aspects of service, strategy and experience design.
As the Experience Designer you will take a lead role in designing and defining innovative experiences and services for new ventures, strategies and initiatives at the University, for example the Sydney Biomedical Accelerator or Western Sydney (Parramatta/Westmead) Strategy.
As a champion of human-centered design you will develop strong relationships with University and external stakeholders to undertake design and innovation activities. You will frame University and wider community questions and undertake research and design activities in support of both our baseline and future state experiences.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • take the lead on projects, translating stakeholder briefs into design-led activities and projects
  • distill strategic insights from qualitative and quantitative research to create compelling stories
  • design and facilitate a range of workshops including discovery and co-design workshops to break down complex problems, identify opportunities, develop concepts and make recommendations
  • identify required institutional capabilities and enablers for strategic initiatives and lead gap analyses; and develop road maps
  • liaise with stakeholders across portfolios and faculties to develop a deep understanding of their needs and requirements pertaining to staff or student related initiatives
  • apply polished visual communication skills, using design craft to deliver strategic messages and concepts in a succinct way
  • engage with the wider public communities and industry partners to describe and document their needs and expectations.
