OVERVIEW

The Activities Co-ordinator plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in care homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and senior care environments. This position involves planning, organising, and implementing engaging activities that cater to the diverse interests and needs of residents, particularly those with dementia. The Activities Co-ordinator will work closely with staff, families, and residents to create a vibrant community atmosphere that promotes social interaction and emotional well-being.

SKILLS

• Strong understanding of dementia care principles and best practices in senior care settings.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members.
• Ability to organise and lead a variety of activities that cater to different interests and abilities.
• Compassionate approach towards caregiving, demonstrating empathy for residents’ needs.
• Experience working in a care home or assisted living environment is highly desirable.
• Creativity in developing new programmes that stimulate mental and physical engagement among residents.
• Strong organisational skills to manage schedules, resources, and documentation effectively.
