Description Apprentice Plumber Reports to: General Manager Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt At East End Plumbing, we are believers that more is possible. Job Overview: This role will assist licensed plumbers with installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems in residential settings. This is a hands-on role that offers valuable on-the-job training and the opportunity to grow within the plumbing trade. Key Responsibilities: Arrives at customer appointments on time and dressed in East End Plumbing apparel Assists licensed plumbers and helps them permanently solve plumbing problems for homeowners by installing, repairing, and maintaining residential plumbing systems and fixtures Learns to interpret blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials Supports troubleshooting and repair of plumbing issues under supervision. Learns how to: Inspect plumbing systems, identify issues, and recommend appropriate solutions Install and/or repair plumbing systems and fixtures Test plumbing systems for leaks and other problems using pressure gauges and other tools Install water heaters and related equipment Run gas lines for standby generators (partnering with our sister company, Grand Bay Electric) Perform drain cleaning and other general plumbing services using drain snakes, augers, inspection cameras, and hydro-jetters to locate and eliminate clogs Provide estimates to homeowners for plumbing work and assists in project planning Collect payment from homeowners Discusses preventive maintenance plans with homeowners to avoid future issues Follows safety protocols and complies with local plumbing codes and regulations. Keeps work areas clean and organized. Attends training sessions and completes coursework as required for licensing. Timely completes all required paperwork Maintains accurate records of work performed and materials used Delivers clean, efficient, and respectful service experience that helps customers feel confident and relieved Represents East End Plumbing with professionalism and care (every home, every visit) Lives out the company’s purpose, mission, and values Provides customers with a remarkable experience Any and all duties as assigned by supervisor Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics: Basic understanding of plumbing systems and tools. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environments. Valid drivers license with a safe driving record Skill in operating a personal computer or laptop, smartphone, and programs (including tablets, CRM systems, and digital proposals Ability to understand, speak, read, and write in English, including strong presentation skills. Skilled with hand tools and power tools. Basic math and problem-solving skills. Professional demeanor and customer-focused mindset Skilled in verbal and written communication. Strong customer service skills Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED Enrollment in or completion of an accredited plumbing apprenticeship program (preferred)
