POSITION OVERVIEW

This role plays a key part in connecting prospective residents with their new homes and ensuring a positive leasing experience from start to finish. As an Assistant Manager at 500 Fifth Apartments, you will play a key role in overseeing leasing operations and contributing to the achievement of optimal rental income. Successful lease execution directly activates our competitive commission and performance-based bonus structure.. Most importantly, our property management philosophy centers around strong customer service and resident satisfaction—both of which begin with every Assistant Manager on the Fortis team.
The Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the Community Manager in enhancing the success and operations of the community in the most efficient and profitable manner. Responsibilities include resolving resident issues, managing accounts receivable and payable, overseeing leasing processes, and ensuring accuracy within Yardi and CRM systems. Prior lease-up experience is strongly preferred.

EDUCATION

  • Two or four-year college degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 2–3 years in multi-family property management
  • At least 1 year of Assistant Manager experience required
  • Lease-up experience strongly preferred
  • Background in marketing, leasing, and financial oversight

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to interact professionally with residents, team members, and vendors
  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail
  • Proficient in Yardi, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and occasional evenings as needed

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in multi-family property management
  • At least 1 year of experience in an Assistant Property Manager role or higher
