SUMMARY:

The Automotive Parts Specialist is responsible for assisting customers in identifying and purchasing the correct automotive parts and accessories. This role requires strong product knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to accurately process orders and manage inventory. The Parts Specialist serves as a key point of contact for both internal and external customers, ensuring efficient and effective parts operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree in Automotive Technology or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an automotive parts department or a related automotive service role.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of automotive parts, systems, and terminology.
  • Proficiency in using electronic parts catalogs and inventory management systems.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and navigating software applications.
  • Ability to lift and move parts, some of which may be heavy.
  • Certifications (Preferred): ASE Parts Specialist certification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Lifting and carrying parts weighing up to [Specify weight limit, e.g., 50 pounds].
  • Using hands to handle and manipulate parts and tools.
  • Visual acuity to read part numbers and computer screens.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $60,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Customer Service:
  • Greet customers promptly and courteously, whether in person, over the phone, or via electronic communication.
  • Listen attentively to customer needs and ask clarifying questions to accurately identify required parts.
  • Provide knowledgeable and accurate information about parts, their applications, and compatibility.
  • Offer alternative parts or solutions when necessary.
  • Provide pricing information, availability, and estimated delivery times.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, including service technicians and wholesale clients.

ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS:

  • Maintain accurate records of sales, returns, and inventory transactions.
  • Process payments and handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Answer phone calls and direct them appropriately.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.
