The Metropolitan Hotel is reopening with a brand-new nightclub on our second floor — and we’re looking for an experienced Bar Manager and enthusiastic Bartenders to join our hospitality team. This is a rare chance to be part of an opening crew and help shape the culture of a venue from day one.
About the Role – Bar Manager
We’re seeking a full-time Bar Manager with strong hospitality experience and the leadership skills to run a multi-level venue. You’ll oversee bar operations across three levels, including the launch of our nightclub (capacity ~165). This is a hands-on management role that requires professionalism, industry knowledge, and a passion for creating a positive, team-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities – Bar Manager

• Oversee daily bar operations across all levels of the venue.
• Train, supervise, and support bartenders to ensure service excellence.
• Liaise with suppliers, negotiate pricing, and secure specials that align with current market trends.
• Manage stock control, ordering, and inventory for bars and keg rooms.
• Ensure compliance with all RSA, OH&S, and licensing requirements.
• Maintain high standards of cocktail preparation, wine service, and beer knowledge.
• Assist with planning and execution of events, themed nights, and promotions.
• Foster a positive workplace culture that encourages teamwork, accountability, and fun.

About You

• For Bar Manager: Previous bar management or senior bartender experience essential.
• Passionate about hospitality, nightlife, and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Reliable, organised, and confident in both high-volume and casual service environments.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused mindset.
• Ready to be part of an opening team and grow with the venue.
