Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

As our Café Chef, you will be the culinary cornerstone of our café kitchen. You will be responsible for:

  • Crafting and introducing new, creative dishes that align with our brand identity and seasonal offerings.
  • Delivering consistently high-quality food in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Efficiently managing food prep, service support, and kitchen maintenance tasks to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Handling stock, inventory, and supply planning, including creating shopping lists and coordinating orders.
  • Ensuring kitchen hygiene and cleanliness, including regular tidying, sanitising surfaces, and equipment upkeep.
  • Working flexibly across mornings, afternoons, weekdays, and weekends, to meet service demands.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and develop new menu items, specials, daily offerings, and seasonal features.
  • Execute all menu items with precision, efficiency, and consistent quality.
  • Oversee all aspects of food preparation—from ingredient prep to plating.
  • Conduct regular cleaning, sanitising, and maintenance of the kitchen and equipment.
  • Monitor stock levels, perform inventory counts, forecast needs, and create accurate shopping lists.
  • Support front-of-house team during service when needed, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  • Uphold health and safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards.
  • Collaborate with café management on menu updates, supplier relationships, and operational improvements.
