JOB TITLE: EXPERIENCED CHEF

Location: Village Country Pub, near Sheringham, Norfolk
Salary: £32,500 - £34,000 per annum
Tronc System: £2,500 per annum (annual bonus via tips)
Hours: 45-50 hours per week, 5 days a week

We are a charming village country pub located near Sheringham, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere to locals and visitors alike. With five comfortable bedrooms, we provide a traditional pub experience complemented by high-quality food made from the best locally sourced ingredients. We are seeking a passionate and experienced chef to join our team and help us maintain the high standards of our food offering.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience as a chef in a similar environment, ideally within a pub or restaurant setting.
  • A genuine passion for cooking and creating high-quality dishes.
  • Excellent knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with front-of-house staff.
  • Experience in menu planning and costing is desirable.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook high-quality meals in line with our menu.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standard.
  • Manage kitchen operations effectively and efficiently, including stock control, health and safety, and cleanliness.
  • Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Assist with menu development and seasonal changes, considering local produce and customer preferences.
  • Maintain high hygiene standards in line with food safety regulations.
  • Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, ensuring a cohesive and effective team.
  • Monitor food stock levels, order supplies, and reduce food wastage.
  • Contribute to the overall management and improvement of kitchen systems and procedures.
