Description:
Operates and monitors computerized control system (PLC) and related equipment in wastewater treatment (indexing filter, dissolved-air floatation unit), and reports to the Chemical, Water & Wastewater Treatment Team Leader Engineer. Makes Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller adjustments for the chemical pumps to optimize the DAF system’s response to changes in the incoming wastewater quality. Calibrates the pH meters and turbidity meters used in sampling. Ensures the proper operation of the Cleaning-In-Place (CIP) pumps and performs any minor equipment repairs in the plant. Reads meters and gauges to ensure that plant equipment is operating nominally and to track changes in chemical usage throughout the shift. Maintains log records and facility records such as flowrate and pH monitoring sheets and collects wastewater samples for characterization and analysis. Follows departmental SOPs with respect to all maintenance, housekeeping & operation of wastewater & related equipment. Handles chemicals for wastewater treatment including storage, preparation, and dilution, and adjusts the dosing amounts to the system, as needed Follows company policies and procedures and works safely utilizing all required PPE in good condition. Performs a variety of cleaning activities. Compliance with all rules & policies regarding health safety, occupational safety, environmental safety, food safety, legal regulations, company requirements, etc. Compliance with the Company’s Integrated Management Systems which includes, but is not limited to Production, Quality, Food Safety & GMP.
