Our Charlotte maintenance facility supports a diverse fleet of late-model motorcoaches, minibuses, and support vehicles. We take pride in keeping our fleet road-ready through teamwork, efficiency, and craftsmanship. Position Overview We are seeking a Lead Diesel Technician to join our Charlotte maintenance team. This role combines hands-on technical work with shop leadership responsibilities — ideal for an experienced mechanic ready to grow into a Shop Foreman or Maintenance Manager role. You’ll work alongside a small team of diesel technicians, oversee daily workflow and service scheduling, and serve as a key communication point between the shop and the Maintenance Director. Key Responsibilities Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on diesel coaches, minibuses, and support vehicles. Lead and mentor a team of technicians; set daily priorities and ensure productivity. Assist in scheduling PM services, work orders, and vendor coordination. Monitor repair quality, safety, and compliance with company and DOT standards. Support parts tracking, inventory control, and repair documentation. Communicate repair status, challenges, and recommendations directly with the Maintenance Director. Promote a clean, safe, and efficient shop environment. Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a diesel technician (motorcoach, heavy-truck, or fleet experience preferred). Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills. Proven ability to lead or coordinate a small team. Familiarity with DOT, FMCSA, and preventive maintenance standards. CDL B with air brake endorsement (or willingness to obtain).
