JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a committed, experienced, and fully qualified full-time Disability Support Worker to work in our busy and expanding company. Your primary responsibilities will be to support NDIS participants with tasks such as community access, social activities, housekeeping, food preparation, shopping, assistance with self-care, companionship and emotional support, and assisting in developing independent living skills for participating in activities.
You will work closely with multiple clients, developing rapport and forming a lasting, meaningful professional relationship with them. You will work within the NDIS funding framework, assisting them to achieve their goals, increase their independence and participation within the community. You will provide support to people with disability and/or psychosocial needs, enabling them to undertake all aspects of daily living.

As well as the above skills, the essential criteria include:

  • NDIS Workers Screening Check or willing to obtain
  • A current National Police Clearance
  • Working with Children’s Check, or willing to obtain one
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Valid West Australian driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
  • Able to provide proof of COVID-19 Vaccinations
  • Infection Control
  • Manual Handling
  • NDIS training module

Responsibilities
  • Assistance with ADL’s such as toileting, showering, dressing, cooking and cleaning
  • Providing individual support to clients with psychosocial requirements
  • Assisting clients with social outings, shopping trips and appointments
  • Liaising with the families and representatives of your client as required
  • Promoting positive behaviours, learning experiences and skill development
  • Follow individual service and healthcare plans
  • Use your administration skills to document client progress notes and records daily
  • Help your clients get the most out of their experience
  • Work as part of a dedicated and fun team
    The ideal candidate will pride themselves on their ability to deliver person-centred care that values the choice and goals of the client and be willing to relocate to Southwest WA. They will have the people skills to build and maintain meaningful, lasting relationships with their clients and be able to work well with other staff and coordinators

Qualifications
· 1 year relevant work experience
· Certificate 3 in Individual Support/Aged Care/Disability Work
