OVERVIEW

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team, providing essential care and assistance to individuals in need. The ideal candidate will have experience in various care settings, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospice care. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting with daily activities, medication administration, and emotional support.

EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in senior care, nursing homes, assisted living, or hospice care is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with medication administration protocols and safety practices.
• Experience in case management or working with individuals requiring behaviour management is an advantage.
• A background in dementia care will be beneficial for supporting clients with cognitive impairments.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• A caring attitude towards individuals requiring support, along with patience and empathy.

• Provide personal care and support to clients in accordance with their individual care plans.
• Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients receive nutritious meals.
• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
• Support clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
• Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
• Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or case manager.
• Implement behaviour management strategies when necessary to ensure a safe environment for all clients.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients facing challenges related to dementia or other health issues.
