OVERVIEW

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team, providing essential care and assistance to individuals in need. EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in senior care, nursing homes, assisted living, or hospice care is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with medication administration protocols and safety practices.
  • Experience in case management or working with individuals requiring behaviour management is an advantage.
  • A background in dementia care will be beneficial for supporting clients with cognitive impairments.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • A caring attitude towards individuals requiring support, along with patience and empathy.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and support to clients in accordance with their individual care plans.
  • Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients receive nutritious meals.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
  • Support clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
  • Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
  • Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or case manager.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies when necessary to ensure a safe environment for all clients.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients facing challenges related to dementia or other health issues.
