McClure Engineering is seeking a talented Electrician, Electrical Contractor, or Electrical Project Engineer to join our team and grow into roles within project management or design engineering.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize industry knowledge and experience in electrical construction projects to drive a functional project design including electrical power service and distribution, branch circuits, indoor and outdoor lighting and lighting controls, fire alarm systems, telephone and data infrastructure wiring, audio/visual systems, and miscellaneous electrical and control systems to develop the production of construction documents (drawings and specifications)
  • Advise clients regarding electrical systems and requirements available to meet their needs and comply with applicable codes.
  • Implement industry knowledge to assist design team including direct coordination with designer and engineer staff to meet the requirements set forth by the Principial Engineer.
  • Perform field inspections to verify existing site conditions and develop project requirements.
  • Effectively coordinate with internal and external members of the design team.
  • Solve problems of a complex nature, with minimal oversight from the engineering team in both the design and construction phases of a project.
  • Provide guidance to the construction team to ensure implementation of full design.
  • Perform project management activities as it relates to the electrical discipline including reviewing and updating the budget, preparing and updating a project schedule, and establishing project communications, standards and files as necessary.
  • Proven experience as an Electrician, Contractor, or Facilities Personnel

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of relevant electrical experience (Electrician, Contractor, Maintenance or Facilities Personnel) with a preferred focus on building power, lighting, and systems projects for commercial, institutional, and healthcare facilities.
  • Experience selecting equipment and troubleshooting systems.
  • Knowledge of the electrical construction trade, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and of the National Electric Code (NEC).
  • Proficiency in MS Office - specifically Excel, OneNote, Outlook and Word.
  • Proven ability to read and understand both 2D and 3D drawings.
  • Familiarity with electrical construction projects involving multiple disciplines and trades
  • Willingness to learn and grow into project management or design engineering
