JOB TITLE: Experienced Equipment Operator DEPARTMENT: Mine Operations Department or TSF Construction Department LOCATION: Robinson Mine - Ruth, NV PAY GRADE: N/A POSITION REPORTS TO: Mine Operation or TSF Leadership Team ROTATING SHIFT: Yes ☒ ☐ 5 on, 4 off, 4 on, 5 off with possible rotating days and nights NONEXEMPT ☒ Purpose & Scope of The Position: Robinson Introduction: KGHM, Robinson is located approximately ten miles west of Ely Nevada off Highway 50, ensuring a quick, easy commute to site. Robinson is a historic site that has been in continuous operation since 2004 producing Copper, Gold, and Molybdenum as the primary commodities. Robinson is an important contributor to the economy, surrounding communities, and Easten Nevada. Robinson maintains a comprehensive environmental strategy including wildlife protection, habitat recovery, and professional development. Mine Operations: Successful candidates will be required to operate a variety of heavy mining equipment such as haul trucks, dozers, wheel loaders, rope shovels, hydraulic shovels, rubber tire dozers, and blast hole drills in a manner that is consistent with the company’s safety and environmental policies. This includes established criteria for pre-operational and post-operational inspections, and efficiently operating mining equipment, and consistent cycle times. All work must be completed in a safe and efficient manner while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect the company’s values. TSF Construction: Successful candidates will be required to operate a variety of heavy mining equipment such as haul trucks, dozers, wheel loaders, excavators, rubber tire dozers, and blast hole drills in a manner that is consistent with the company’s safety and environmental policies. This includes established criteria for pre-operational and post-operational inspections, and efficiently operating mining equipment, and consistent cycle times. All work must be completed in a safe and efficient manner while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect the company’s values. Job Duties & Responsibilities: Demonstrates a steady and optimistic approach when adapting to changing priorities, conditions, or production needs. Haul material from point A to point B in a safe and efficient manner, causing the least amount of wear and damage to the equipment and mine property, while maintaining the highest possible level of safe production. Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management. Perform and document a thorough pre-operational and post-operational inspections to evaluate the safety and mechanical condition of the equipment. Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality, and code of conduct. Punctuality and reliable attendance is required. Consistently exercise discretion and judgment in job performance. Recognize hazardous conditions or situations and act quickly and appropriately to mitigate or eliminate those conditions or situations. Engage with all individuals on site to unlock value through responsible mining. Ability to receive constructive feedback on job performance and job duties. Ability to work in a dynamic environment, both individually and as team member. Follow safe work procedures and best practices. Willingness to perform other duties as necessary to ensure the success of KGHM. Required Education, Work Experience & Training: A valid Driver’s License. Must be able to operate a 2-way radio and follow instructions. Constantly willing and able to improve skills. 2 plus years’ heavy equipment operating experience in a mining or construction environment. General understanding of mechanical functions of various equipment. Preferred Education, Work Experience & Training: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical Skills: Follow verbal and written directions and instructions. Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Basic knowledge of computer and tablet operations. Travel Requirements: N/A Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A Additional Requirements: Successful completion of a pre-employment physical, including drug and alcohol testing. Ability to meet the required physical demands, including exerting 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 pounds of force constantly.
