Overview
Electric Advantage, Inc. is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician with a minimum of 5 years’ experience and NICET certification. This position requires the ability to service, inspect and repair Fire Alarm systems for established commercial customers on a scheduled basis and must be available for on call rotation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in field service, electrical and mechanical knowledge, and experience with alarm system sales.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair alarm systems in commercial buildings.
  • Conduct routine inspections and testing of alarm systems to ensure proper functionality.
  • Respond to service requests, diagnose system malfunctions of fire alarms and adjust, repair or replace equipment as needed to bring into compliance.
  • Fire Alarm System testing and inspection per NFPA and local code standards.
  • Preparing accurate and timely inspection and service reports.
  • Collaborate with customers to determine their fire alarm needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Provide guidance on the operation of alarm systems to customers.

Experience

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge for system installations.
  • NICET certification preferred.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience.
  • Experience with special hazard suppression system inspection and repair (FM200 and Halon) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in testing and servicing fire alarm brands: Simplex, Notifier, and Fire-Lite.
  • Availability for on-call scheduling.
  • Comfortable working on ladders (6 to 12 ft) and lifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in overhead, confined, or unusual spaces like attics and crawl spaces.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage service tickets and process required documents for each service.
  • Strong communication skills for explaining work and necessary repairs to customers.
  • Excellent writing skills with attention to detail in service documentation.
