JOB OVERVIEW

We at ProTemps are now seeking more dedicated and safety-conscious Flaggers, with Vehicles, to join our team.
The Flagger plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety of both workers and the public at construction sites. This position involves directing traffic, managing work zones, and maintaining a safe environment for all personnel involved in paving, milling, building and all construction or working site operations. The ideal candidates will be reliable, attentive, and able to communicate effectively with both team members and the public in a professional manner at all times.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience as a Flagger is preferred but not mandatory. ProTemps will train.
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is a plus, particularly in paving, milling and building contexts.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • A commitment to maintaining safety standards on-site at all times.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods. Rain, Shine, ect.

Responsibilities
  • Must be Flagger Certified or be able to pass ProTemps Flagging Course.
  • Must have a Class 5 Driver’s license with OWN VEHICLE to travel to various locations within Calgary or nearby outside city locations.
  • Must be flexible in hours and overtime and be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time (*hours could be 4 -12 or 14 hours per days).
  • Have clear English speaking skills and be able to communicate clearly over radios.
  • Direct traffic flow around construction sites using appropriate Traffic Sign, radios and or hand signals.
  • Ensure the safety of workers and all public by monitoring site conditions and alerting them to potential hazards.
  • Communicate effectively with heavy equipment operators to coordinate movements safely.
  • Maintain clear communication with other flaggers and site personnel to ensure smooth and safe operations.
  • Report any incidents or unsafe conditions to supervisors immediately.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices.
