Duties:
- Safely and efficiently operate a forklift to move, stack, and retrieve materials
- Load and unload trailers, with steel using a forklift or overhead crane.
- Ensure proper stacking and securing of materials to prevent damage or accidents
- Perform routine maintenance checks on the forklift and report any issues or malfunctions
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment
- Assist with inventory management by accurately recording materials moved and stored
Skills:
- Valid forklift operator certification
- Proven experience operating a forklift in a steel industrial setting
- Strong knowledge of forklift safety procedures and best practices
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
- Physical stamina to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time
- Attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks
