Reliable Equipment Rentals Ltd. provides aerial equipment rentals and services to valued customers throughout southwestern British Columbia.
We are looking for experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanics to performs skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on various types of high-reach equipment.

$40.00 TO $50.00 PER HOUR DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics and electrical systems, including schematics and diagnostics
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations
  • Highly flexible, strong interpersonal skills and can work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
  • Computer literate

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, CERTIFICATION AND EDUCATION:

  • 3+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Responsibilities
  • Performs mechanical repairs on equipment in the shop.
  • Performs electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots defects in heavy duty equipment.
  • Repairs and adjusts hydraulic pumps, safety switches, and any other mechanical components.
  • Tests repaired equipment for proper performance.
  • Keeps detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation.
  • Responds to road calls when required.
  • Inspects, repairs and adjusts gasoline and diesel-powered equipment.
  • Installs and aligns engines and machinery.
  • Cleans, lubricates and performs other maintenance work.
  • Adheres to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances.
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and works cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless service.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
