We are a busy Indian–Sri Lankan restaurant known for authentic cuisine and excellent service. We are seeking an Experienced Kitchen Porter to maintain cleanliness, support kitchen operations, and ensure the smooth running of the back-of-house environment.
Role Overview
The Experienced Kitchen Porter will assist the kitchen team with cleaning, washing, and basic food preparation duties. This role is vital to maintaining hygiene and efficiency in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
· Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas
· Assist with basic food preparation tasks as required
· Ensure all waste is disposed of properly and in line with health regulations
· Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times
· Support the kitchen team during busy periods
· Follow health, safety, and hygiene procedures strictly
· Report any maintenance issues to the Head Chef or Manager
Requirements
· Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter in a restaurant setting preferred
· Knowledge of hygiene, safety, and cleaning standards
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
· Strong teamwork and communication skills
· Reliable, punctual, and flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
· Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks
· Health and Safety Level 1 Certificate
· Food and Hygienic Level 1 Certificate
