Description We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Low-Voltage Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in installing, troubleshooting, and integrating various low-voltage systems. This role involves working with security and IT systems, ensuring safe and efficient installations while collaborating with other trade professionals on-site. This position may involve travel to job sites, including occasional weekend or after-hours work to meet project deadlines or respond to urgent situations. All travel and accommodation expenses will be covered by the company. Key Responsibilities: System Installation & Integration: o Install and configure security systems, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, intrusion/burglary alarms, and audio/video systems. o Installation and setup of IT-related hardware such as switches, routers, wireless access points, and TV signage displays. o Perform integration between various security and IT systems to ensure seamless operation. Blueprint Reading & Planning: o Review and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications to determine optimal placement of components and wiring routes. o Plan and execute installations according to project requirements and client specifications. Compliance & Safety: o Ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations as well as company safety policies. o Promote a safe and productive job site by following proper procedures and standards. o Conduct site checks to verify all team members are adhering to safety requirements. Collaboration & Communication: o Work alongside other trade professionals, including electricians, IT teams, and construction crews, to coordinate installations. o Communicate clearly with project managers and clients regarding progress, issues, and project timelines. Troubleshooting & Support: o Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to low-voltage systems and network equipment. o Provide post-installation support and training to clients as needed. Requirements Qualifications: · Minimum 3-5 years of experience in low-voltage system installation. · Strong knowledge of surveillance systems, access control, alarm systems, and networking equipment. · Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams. · Proficient with tools and equipment related to low-voltage work. · Understanding of provincial and federal safety regulations. · Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail. · Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. · Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. · Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check. · Must apply for and obtain a Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) as required by state law · Industry certifications such as BICSI, NICET, or equivalent (preferred but not required). Physical Requirements: · Comfortable working at heights and in various environmental conditions. · Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.
