Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and confident Night Security Guard to protect and patrol our facility overnight. You will be based in a secure on-site cabin with CCTV monitoring, but this is not a sit-down role — you will be required to carry out hourly patrols throughout the night to ensure the security and integrity of the site.
The ideal candidate will be mature, reliable, and physically capable, with proven security experience. If you have a trained guard dog, this will significantly increase your chances of securing the role, as it is highly valued for deterrence and protection.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV systems, alarms, and access points from the cabin.
• Conduct hourly internal and external patrols of the facility.
• Carry out checks on doors, gates, vehicles, and equipment.
• Respond promptly and decisively to incidents, alarms, or suspicious behaviour.
• Keep accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and records of suspicious activity.
• Liaise with management, emergency services, and law enforcement when required.
• Maintain a visible presence — never shying away from potential threats.
• Support emergency procedures if required.
• Remain alert and awake at all times — sleeping on duty is strictly prohibited.
• Adhere to Health & Safety, Fire Safety, and Working Time Regulations.

Requirements

• Valid SIA Security Guarding Licence (essential).
• Proven security experience (minimum 3+ years preferred).
• Mature and reliable, ideally aged 28+, with the confidence to work independently at night.
• Guard dog preferred – if you have one, please state this clearly in your application, as it is a highly valued requirement for us.
• Must demonstrate good handling, with the dog properly trained and insured.
• Strong observational skills and ability to remain alert through long shifts.
• Physically fit to conduct repeated patrols in all weather conditions.
• Confident, assertive, and able to de-escalate or manage incidents.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Right to work in the UK and able to pass background/security vetting.

Working Conditions

• Shift Pattern: 10pm–6am (8 hours).
• Preferably 7 nights per week covered by one guard.
• If not, the role will be split between two part-time guards (4 nights / 3 nights per week, alternating monthly).
• Patrols required every hour.
• Security cabin with heating, lighting, CCTV, and facilities provided.
• Uniform and basic equipment will be provided.
• Free health assessments for night workers (as required by UK law).
