Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Orthodontic Assistant with hands on experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience of at least 1 year orthodontic assisting, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient service and maintaining high-quality records.
Mon-Thur 9:30am-6:30pm
2 Fridays per month 10:00am-6:30pm
2 Saturdays per month 8:30am-2:00pm

Job Summary

  • Clinical duties: Assisting the orthodontist during treatment & working independently under doctors instructions to prepare patients, and providing oral health instructions. This can include etching and sealants, removing and replacing ligatures and wires, and removing excess cement from brackets.
  • Administrative duties: Scheduling appointments, thoroughly maintaining dental records during every visit/interaction .
  • Patient care: Communicating patient needs and concerns with the orthodontist, and providing post-treatment care instructions.
  • Equipment preparation: Sterilizing instruments and equipment, and assembling trays.
  • Imaging: Taking digital x-rays, intraoral images, photos, and iTero scans.
  • Laboratory duties: Submitting all patient labs to appropriate companies, ensuring timely arrival of labs. Printing 3D models. Printing/trimming Essix retainers.
  • Inventory control: Maintaining patient room supplies, laboratory room supplies, and ensuring inventory is appropriately stocked.
  • Patient progress: Keeping track of patient progress using records.
  • Office appearance & cleanliness: throughout the work day and at end of each work day, proper cleaning of operatory, lab and common spaces.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 full year experience in orthodontic assisting.
  • Strong knowledge of orthodontic procedures.
  • Familiarity with Panoramic, Cephelometric x-rays & iTero Scan.
  • Compliant with HIPAA regulations and guidelines.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and patients. Patient load per day varies between 35-65.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with patients and staff.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
