Description

Full job description

Y’ollk Bakery is a welcoming neighborhood bakery and café focused on thoughtfully made pastries and consistent quality. We’re looking for a dependable baker who enjoys hands-on production, pays attention to the small details, and wants to grow with our team. What you’ll do: Prepare, shape, proof, bake, fry, fill, and finish bakery products using Y’ollk’s recipes and production standards. Work on products such as brioche donuts, viennoiserie, breakfast pastries, cookies, quiches, cakes, and seasonal specials, depending on your experience and the day’s production needs. Follow the daily production schedule so products are fresh and ready for service on time. Measure ingredients accurately and record yields, times, temperatures, and other production details when required. Check each product for consistent size, flavor, texture, bake or fry quality, and presentation. Prepare fillings, toppings, and other components ahead of service. Label, date, store, and rotate ingredients and finished products correctly. Maintain a clean, organized work area and clean equipment throughout and at the end of each shift. Follow food safety, sanitation, and allergen procedures, including preventing cross-contact. Communicate shortages, product issues, equipment problems, or changes to the production plan promptly. Support teammates during busy service and help train newer bakers as you learn Y’ollk’s methods. What we’re looking for: Experience in a bakery, pastry kitchen, or other professional food production setting. Strong recipe-following skills and attention to consistency. An understanding of dough handling, proofing, baking, and kitchen food safety. The ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality during a busy morning shift. Dependability, good communication, and openness to feedback. A team-minded attitude and care for the products we serve. Experience with laminated dough, brioche donuts, or cakes is a plus. We’re willing to train a baker who has a strong foundation and a genuine desire to learn. This role involves standing for much of the shift, working around ovens and fryers, and lifting and moving ingredients and trays with safe handling practices. Benefits: A meal and drink during each shift. Full-time team members are eligible for Y’ollk’s PTO benefits. To apply, please send your résumé, a brief description of your baking experience, and your availability to Y’ollk Bakery.
