QMC Metering Solutions supplies and integrates several meter technologies to effectively monitor the consumption of electricity, water, gas and thermal energy consumption of commercial and residential properties. We have offices in BC, Calgary, and Toronto and have a support and distribution network across the country including Edmonton and Montreal.
QMC is seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanical and/or Electrical Tradesperson to join our team. Working closely with our project team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, verification, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical metering equipment.
This role demands a solid understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems used in metering applications and is integral in delivering QMC’s expertise to our clients. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience, a problem-solving mindset, and a commitment to high-quality service.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Preference given to Trade certification or diploma in Electrical, Electromechanical, or Mechanical disciplines (e.g., Red Seal, Industrial Electrician, Instrumentation, plumbing Technician, etc.)..
• Solid understanding of mechanical plumbing and/or electrical systems
• Familiarity with industry standards mechanical, electrical, building code
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to field sites as required.

Experience:

• Electrical: 2 years (preferred)
• Utility metering systems (electric, gas or water): 1 year (required)
• Plumbing: 2 years (preferred)

• Working directly with project mangers performs on-site inspection and verification of metering systems to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Interact with contractors, building operations staff to support corrective troubleshooting on both electrical and mechanical metering components
• Support commissioning of Mechanical and Electrical sub metering systems
• Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation
• Maintain detailed documentation and deficiency reporting
• Ensure all work adheres to code requirements and QMC standards
• Represent QMC professionally while working at client sites
